scigirl,

It's nice to "talk" to you again, haven't visited with you in awhile.

Yes, I did check out the Trinity Foundation's website and was most pleased. What I was most impressed with was my wife pointed me to it. You guys probably think I'm wacky for being a Christian (and even worse, a conservative who is Christian), her family is way off into that Pentecostal healing stuff and she has been a fan of Hinn's for years (and, gulp, was a fan of Bakker's until the fall too :banghead: ), so I was most pleased to see what I think is the scales falling from her eyes as to the crookedness of Hinn.

I also found an interesting small book on Hinn at Amazon re some of his doctrinal craziness, but on a forum that thinks that Christianity is crazy I don't think there will be many takers.

Yeah well "The Cult (TM)" keeps me pretty busy nowadays (aka medical school). Plus I usually hang out mostly in E/C.

What was the premise of the book? Links would be cool!

scigirl,

Here's the http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1885591942/qid=1041724607/sr=1-23/ref=sr_1_23/103-3944515-5476639?v=glance&s=books .

One of the individual reviews:

This book is well documented and uses the words and actions of Benny Hinn to shed light on Hinn's questionable teachings and antics. It shows him to be a person who exagerates and plays loosely with the truth. Some of what Hinn says, it makes one wonder if he knows the basic teachings of the Bible.

The book's only weakness is that the information is somewhat dated. Most of the material deals with the early 90's. I would like to see an update.

The chapter about the authors visiting Hinn's church in Orlando is eye opening. It shows that questioning Hinn isn't allowed in his church. And the way they were treated is no way to treat visitors to a church.

Anyone wanting to find out the truth about the false teachings and scams of Benny Hinn should read this book.
