I'm still not understanding whatever basis you are using for "smart." Evolution happens when the fittest survive and thrive. That is what we humans are doing. Sure, we could blow ourselves up but that argument doesn't hold water because it hasn't happened yet. I would tend to look more at the positive aspects of what has been happening where people all over the world have banded together in the name of peace.
