Crazy, thats my old high school. My girlfriend just told me about it...
I never had Mr. Treece, but he has quite the reputation. Although I mostly agree with him politically, any accusation that his class was "one sided" is probably true. But whooo, illegal search in the name of patriotism. I love where we're headed. Local spin. Girlfriends dad (Gary Taylor) is quoted. Story about the photo incident |

"Mott maintains that he was on a break and wanted to photograph student projects that offended him as an American and a retired military man. "
I want to punch this guy very hard in the face, twice. |

All I could think was "typical," reading how NONE of the parents complaining and planning to vote against the budget have any children in the teachers class. None of them have any idea what goes on in there. But they are still adamant that voting down the budget is the best way to created a "balanced" class room", nevermind that all of his actual students say is balanced.

I agree the issue is CERTAINLY NOT whether or not any public person had any interest in that classroom, but that a police officer used his uniform to intimidate a custodian into allowing him entry into a school (while on break and presumably as a PRIVATE citizen) to take pictures of school projects that aren't "patriotic" enough for him in an attempt to publically harm or discredit the teacher or the MINOR students in that classroom.
We still have freedom of speech, for how long no one knows. Those children may take any view they wish and there is nothing illegal about saying Bush should keep his mouth shut or that American is taking a wayward path. Dissent is ESSENTIAL to liberty and democracy and those wishing to squash it through intimdation, unethical and illegal methods should be sharply disciplined and socially shunned for the dangers to society that ONLY they are!!
