Bush may well be no more than the representative figurehead. It doesn't matter if he, personally, does or doesn't have a great mind. It is the sum total of Bush "operatives" to which I constantly refer. (i.e.: Administration/Posse/Manipulators/ Appointees/etc.) It is their collective activity/philosophies that merit increased vigilance and concern. Whether Bush is his father's, Cheney's, Rumfeld's, the Heritage Foundation's, or his personal pastor's, sock-puppet really doesn't matter. He is the President and he has the support of the House and just one seat short of the Senate. Obviously 5 of the 9 Supremes have a vested interest in him.

It "is" the Oval Office saying it...regardless who is sitting in the chair. That person can constitutionally put Americans in harm's way, or curtail their liberties, with a word or a signature. (U.S.C. Art II, Sec 2 & 3)

The process is a couple of thousand years old.

The bible contains the truth. If anybody reaches a conclusion that contradicts the bible, then they have made a mistake. The task, then, is to find the mistake and correct it -- that is the path to true knowledge.

We might not be able to find the mistake today, but it has to be there somewhere. And we certainly do not want to follow a policy based on a mistake -- just because we can't find it -- do we?

Whew! That's a lot!

I'm afraid I don't have a link, but I just read in today's (10/1) newspaper that Bush is diverting some $34M (billion, perhaps?) from a UN agency that promotes abortions and sterilization in overpopulated 3rd world countries to one of his pet domestic programs.
