Summer in the tropics is a bitch! Damn humid, damn hot, and damn boring. Good thing summer ends on the last weeks of May here.

I guess it comes down to where you live.

In Houston, 3/4 of the year is hot and humid. When it gets cold, it's a rare and beautiful thing. But I suppose if one lives in Michigan, the summer is a rare and beautiful thing.

Personally, I don't find anything pleasurable about sweating when I walk to get the mail...ughghgh....

Biking

Canoeing

Grilling and eating outside

Lying in a hammock

Watching my garden grow (or not as the case may be)

Rhubarb and lots of it

The sun is up when I drive to work and when I drive home! (Actually it's still up when I go to bed).

Women jogging, rollerblading, and biking in shorts and sports bras.

I hate summer, at least the summers Ottawa seems to get. Right now it's about 33C (39C with the humidex - that's about 102F). I happen to live in the loft above the garage of a house, which means I'm right next to the roof. The air conditioner in this room barely keeps it at 30C.

It's too damn hot and muggy to do anything outside, and as much as I like girls in skimpy clothes, even in this weather not enough venture outside.

Nope, give me winter 12 months of the year. (Year round skiing.... mmmmm...)

Summer:

~15 hours of sunlight
70 to 80 degrees typical temp

Winter:

~8 hours of sunlight
0 to 20 degrees typical temp

Winter doesn't stand a chance.

However, autumn is my favorite season.

The only good thing about summer is going down river, and when the temp is above 90, and humidity is close to 100, going down river is not a luxury, but a necessity! Fall, winter and spring are fine, you can do things out side without melting. I can always put more clothes on when it's cold, but ther is only so much you can take off and still be seen in public.

Hello,

Summer nights aren't half bad, actually.

I live in SoCal so the seasons aren't dramatically different here. However, when I was in the army and stationed in the southern midwest winter was 10 kinds of horrible.

First, having to stay in the field for weeks at a time while the night time temps fell below 20 F were miserable. Getting snowed in the barracks for 5 days straight while my car got buried in snow absolutely sucked. Even going out to start the car in the morning while scraping ice off the windshield and waiting for the engine to warm up was brutal.

Cold feet-miserable
Cold hands-terrible
Cold face-it sucked

Once the temperature got down to an ungodly -22 F. It was all cozy and warm in the barracks and I was doing a 24 hour shift. After a while it got kind of stuffy so I walked outside to have a smoke. At first the biting cold was kind of refreshing but it took all of 40 seconds or so for the cold to douse my cigarette and start me shivering.

The only fun I ever had in the cold was travelling up to Cincinnati to see the Raiders play the Bengals. It was a chilly 4 degrees F but it was kind of fun. But it still wasn't fun enough to make up for a frozen seat that chilled me from the ass up.

The heat and humidity of northern Kentucky never really bothered me. I've also been to Michigan in the summer quite a few times and that didn't bother me much either.

No. You people that get snow in the winter can keep it. I hate the cold and ice and all the pains in the ass that go with it.
