You're right, Gemma Therese, I'm not morally responsible for the corrupt actions of evil priests, Bishops, Cardinals etc. I don't see how my responsiblility is relevant.

You may share in the responsibility for it. Search your conscience! Are you doing everything you can to stop it? In one way certainly are responsible. You know your Catholic Church has been corrupt and often evil for at least a thousand years. You know your Catholic Church is often corrupt now. For your edification and to inform other Sec Web users I will give a link with sickening examples of corruption within that Holy Church today.

<a href="http://www.eclipse.co.uk/thoughts/celibacy.htm" target="_blank">http://www.eclipse.co.uk/thoughts/celibacy.htm</a>

Read it all, Gemma Therese if you have the strength to face the truth.
What will happen if you succeed in converting anyone? That person's kids will be at risk from priestly paedophilia. That person will be at risk due to all the various ways the Holy Church misuses its psychological influence over adults. 'Sec Webbers' who have followed this thread can see how it is done. You're an expert in using the psychological controls used by your Catholic Church.
I've said before, The Roman Catholic concept of God is contrary to reason. I've said before, I'm an agnostic. If any God other than the Roman Catholic God exists you may have to answer to that God for the way you have spent a large part of your life exposing people to the corrupt influence of the Roman Catholic Church.

True, there is more to life than reason. There's also more to life than putting myself and those close to me at risk from corrupt people in places of authority within the Roman Catholic Church. Other Sec Webbers think the same as I do.

Puh-leaze! I've seen anti-Catholic dirt in my life, but I have to say that site tops them all.

Try this site:

Thumbs down

But you are capable of learning about Catholic theology, with an open mind, converting, and attending the Sacraments.

Gemma Therese

I am capable of learning about the Catholic Church with an open mind. You are not capable of looking at Catholicism with an open mind. You have too much blind faith and too much terror of hell.
When I look at the Catholic Church with an open mind all I see is corrupt human beings doing harm together with irrational arguments.
When I and others point out to you the irrationality of Catholicism the best reply you give is,

Why on earth should any sensible person join your Church?

Sorry, your link didn't work on my computer. SO EVERYTHING THAT CRITICIZES THE HOLY CHURCH HAS TO BE ANTI-CATHOLIC DIRT? Everything good you imagine about the church has to be correct I suppose.

Gemma Therese:

Thank you much for your prayers. I understand that you mean me well, and mean not to belittle and annoy me, but save me from eternal torment. I disagree that such a thing exists, but can understand the sentiment.

I regret to say, though, your words as you have given them will not convince me. The quotes you have presented, while lovely, have little substance to them. You may find them uplifting and enlightening, but you already believe. I do not.

Faith, will not convince me either. There are thousands of Christian demoninations alone, even without considering other religious branches. They all have faith. It is not good enough.

What I need, is convincing evidence and persuasion. You claim that God is obvious and everywhere - show Him to me. You know that Hell exists, show me where. You believe that I am in sin, tell me why. If your arguments are sound and truthful, I can be convinced; for I am not attempting to live a lie, but to align myself with the truth as it exists. And I take truth seriously and literally.

If God does exist, I want to know... but simply believing in such a thing, doesn't make it so. I've seen nothing yet that has convinced me. If you wish to save me, then show me. Convince me. Rub the obvious in my face if necessary! Perhaps I will learn something, and perhaps so will you.

I have no such power -- in the beautiful words of St. Therese of Lisieux - "How powerless am I to express in human language the secrets of heaven."

Gemma,

Yes, and certain religious intellectuals once thought you could cure demon possession by drilling a hole in the patient’s head! Regardless, your appeal to authority does little to convince me of the wonders of Catholicism.

I am well aware of these esteemed institutions and their reputations. Still, I'll wager that there are many "Good Catholics" at all of them who toss their reason out the door and replace it with Church authority and the infallible Pope.

But that's neither here nor there...

You have yet to prove your critical thinking ability to me because you continue to ignore our questions.

Since your fond of bandying about quotes, I'll toss one your way:

"Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do."
