Question Need a good (free) web page host

Does anyone know of a website that provides free and relatively stable place to host a web page?

I'm using geocities for now, but I may need to switch soon.

A dead monkey could code HTML, so I should be fine.

I like DotEasy as you can have your own domain. You pay for the domain name ($20 - $25 a year), but the hosting is free and no pop-ups, pop-unders or banners are required. My wife and I host a few there, and www.fredswebpage.com is a lot easier to publicize than www.geocities.com/athens/1234/fred.

A mantra to live by, applies to damn near anything:

Good
Fast
Cheap

Choose any two.

I'm keeping the site as small as possible, so the speed won't be as much as issue.

Freeservers.com is good and its sister site 20m.com.

They both offer an initial free site that they put their own banner ad and then you can upgrade for like $5.00/month to have that removed. They also both offer WYSIWYG template formation so you don't have to be an HTML expert like me

I host three websites (fully functional business sites as well as a personal one) with freeservers and haven't had any problems in over three years now.

I remember when I first got onto the internet these sorts of providers (fso.org were more plentiful. With the internet now becoming more mainstream, free web hosting is becoming more and more restrictive and to get any kind of serious site up now almost ultimately requires paid hosting.

Of course there are exceptions, but I find this slightly bemusing.
