I hereby invoke the awesome powers invested in me by the Board of Directors (hallowed be their names), and acting in accordance with their will as manifested by the Administrators, raise up Grizzly to join the exalted ranks of the IIDB Administrators.
Ave Grizzly! Michael IIDB Administrator (and no longer the newbie of the bunch) |

Congrats to Grizzly.
![]() Is there somewhere we can read about the distinction between Administrators and Mods? I mean, I can guess, but if there's a document that specifies, I would be interested to read of the duties. And who composes the BOD? Are those the Admins or is that a total separate group of people? Suddenly I am interested in the organization and hierarchy of this group. Any info to refer me to would be appreciated. thx |

hello cheetah,
You can read the moderator qualifications and selections sticky near the top of this forum. That will give you some ideas. Basically, mods boss the individual fora. The admins are generally selected from the mod ranks (though some are BOD members) and set day to day policy. The BOD is like the BOD of any non-profit organization - probably mostly the people who started things, with new people added as people have changes and leave. Think of the BOD as the general staff, setting big picture strategy. The Admins are the exec officers, running things on a daily basis and coming up with tactics to implement the strategy. The mods are the non-coms, who really keep things running. Spammers and trolls are the enemy - regular users are the civilian population we're trying to keep safe. Sometimes mods are drafted, sometimes they volunteer. The admins are the ones in the really attractive uniforms. cheers, Michael |
