Degrading.

"Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." ~ "The Subtle Knife", Philip Pullman

A cosmic Nigerian Scam, IMO (more than one word, I know). Give God the little you have on earth (and make sure you give 10% to the local church) and he'll richly reward you in heaven!

I'm sure Big Brother would have used this if he had thought of it:
"Eternal Suffering is Forgiveness."

Guilt-free
And here I thought we atheists were denying God so that we could avoid guilt and do whatever our subjective morality allowed!

God-honoring
I thought it was God-Fearing! I guess they're trying to cover up the roots of belief nowadays.

Sure is! God gets to demand a 10% cut!

Foolishness... to those who think they are wise.
Tyranny... to those who think they are free.
Poverty... to those who think they are rich.
Intolerant... to those who think they are tolerant.
Weakness... to those who think they are strong.
Evil... to those who think they are good.
Primitive... to those who think they have evolved.
Diseased... to those who think they are healthy.
Lie... to those who think they are truthful.
Irreligious... to those who think they honor God.
Uncouth... to those who think they are elegant.

These and much more are true.
Oh... And it is apparently an obsession of those who claim there is no God. :banghead:
