I spend a great deal of time reading work-related material, and thing like 'Advances in wet aldehyde applications for flavor compounds' are not the most riveting of subjects, I seem to enjoy reading a great deal of fiction.

My favorite would probably be fantasy/sci-fi, but I enjoy most subjects.

Well I for one am not a fan of reading. I only do it when there is absolutely nothing else to do. I also don't like to read books without illustrations, especially books about complex subjects like physics. I read Hawking's A Brief History of Time and the topics within were harder for me to understand than in his other book, The Universe in a Nutshell, which was illustrated. As far as fiction, the only fiction books I ever really liked were the books of the Myst series; The Book of Atrus, The Book of Ti'ana and The Book of D'ni. Almost all other fiction books I read were force-fed to me in school.

Mostly I read fiction--although not at the alarming rate I did while in high school, which makes me sad somedays.

For the most part, my non-fiction books are biographies and cookbooks. Hmmm. Maybe I should broaden my sights to history or philosophy.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement. When I'm in the right mood, I find the Bible to be quite intriguing fiction...

Heheh, another one! Maybe we should form a club.

Real life is more interesting.
More interesting, more beautiful, more ugly, more alarming, more dazzling, more suffering, more bloody everything! Perhaps that's why some people turn to fiction: a less intense, more comfortable version of reality; or in other words, a hideout from the pain and dizziness of reality.

I'm usually found with a science/current events book or magazine, but I recently discovered the Wheel of Time series.

About 50/50 here, too
Currently reading some sagan (recently finished demon-haunted world). When I read fiction, it's usually sci-fi from the whole spectrum (science-fantasy to hard sci-fi).

They keep talking about antelopes and shit during the only sex scene, major points off for that.
