and i saw no metion of the "white collar" crimes here that do not fall under the watchful eye of the general public and are not normally demonized like small time, drug criminals are.
Here in philadelphia, a major restaurant franchise owner, Neil Stein stole thousands of dollars from his own company, lied on his tax reports, etc and then blamed it all on the fact of his "dependency" to alcohol. He'll serve no jail time even after violating federal laws. He'll get "help." He will be coddled and he will be pampered but he is a lying theif nonetheless. And, his actions did a great deal of harm to his employees who depend on their pay-checks. My ex-girlfriend is having trouble collecting her paychecks from his company and she need to eat and pay her rent. Many more are in her boat because of this man's selfishness. Far more damaging then stealing 20 dollars for a fix. -theSaint |
