Default American troops should burn their fxxxing Bibles first

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the General Religious Discussion or the political Discussion the moderator may feel free to move it to the General Religious discussion if he feels free.

I was aghast. at scenes of American troops having an impromptu church service in the middle of the Iraqi desert in an Islamic country. Are they insane or what!
This will only serve to antagonize Islamic nations and result in in recruitment drive for martyrs on their holy Jihad to enter Iraq which surprise surprise is happening right at this point of time.

Which is quite ironic because Saddam is not all that religious, but he has cunningly turned this into a religious battle against the American crusade.

I agree Saddam has to go, but if American troops bringing in bibles in their back backs, they are only playing into his hands. I suggest they should burn their bibles or at least use it as toilet paper when they are caught short in the desert.

Well, now, I'm not so sure about that. Statistically speaking, they ARE mostly religious, and it would seem cruel to deny them the right to worship as they see fit, no? I mean they are risking death every day, a little prayer probably goes a long way towards giving them peace.

Of course, if they start going door to door asking if the Iraqis have 'found Jesus', they should be shot, no question.

At least they should be discrete about it and not do it publicly out in the open for al-Jezeera to report it and raise the angst of Muslim fanatics around the world.

Otherwise they should make a big bonfire of their fxxxing Bibles. If they were so terrified by they prospect of facing death every day, they would not by overtly provoking Muslim fanatics to suicide bomb them.

Actually, I just see it as giving them a sick sense of holy righteousness in what they are doing there. Yuk.

i dont understand how people can come to a conclusion that killing others is perfectly fine from reading about jesus in the bible. i read the mathew, mark, luke and john chapters and jesus seemed like a pretty nice fellow who cared for others.

unfortunatly reading most of the rest of the bible you get all the bullshit where god tells leaders to instruct their people to kill the enemy at night as they sleep. this must be the part bush reads?
