Re: Continuing: The Antichrist's Appeal

Look at the people on this board, always saying God is myth, a joke - He exists as much as Santa etc. etc. You don't want to believe in Him - that trend will just continue when the AC arrises. God isn't stopping you from believing in Him, you just already chose not to - so what makes you think you would during the reign of the AC? And there will be billions to tell Him how great He is. But yes, many won't accept Him because they don't want to - they have been fooled by the world. Mat 7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 4 billion some people chose the easy path, the wide one. The narrow one is for those who seek it out, and not expect it to hit them in the head. |

In Magus's gods eyes, your crime is merely being human.

You see Magus, the reason so many people argue with you over the injustice and cruelty of your god is because it's incredibly self evident by your posts that you look forward to the time when you will see us burning in hell. You come across as trembling in the dark, waiting to be vindicated by your god. I'll bet you imagine yourself laughing, with your arm around your best buddy Jesus, as you watch even particular people here at II burn for all eternity. Your vitriol is that apparent. Of course you don't see your god as a petty, cruel, childish trickster of humanity, because you and he are similar in many ways. I feel for you Magus, I really do. You have such a low opinion of mankind, and sometimes I wonder if you hold the same opinion of yourself. You've invested so much of your self identity in this single interpretation of your world view that the slightest questioning of it sets you off like a rabid dog, attacking anything that comes near. |

So, in reading this (severely hijacked) post, I have learned from the oh so wise Magus the following about "God";
He does follow his own rules, but only by changing them when he needs them to be changed (more like the rules follow him than vice versa). His philosophy is "Love me or be tortured for all eternity". He created the earth (6,000 years ago) and inhabited it with people made in his own image. He let the serpent deceive Eve and threw humanity out of the Garden of Eden for all eternity to never return. He knows in advance that at some point the AC is going to come at which point he will feel justified in killing billions of people for not loving him. Most of what you write Magus makes your "God" out to be little more than a spoiled 12 year old boy with too much power. He creates man in his own image, then punishes them for the inssticts he gave them (such as critical thinking and doubt). After Eve pissed him off he threw them out of the garden. If this isn't analogus to "I'm taking my ball and going home so you can't play anymore", then I'm not sure what is. He knows in advance of the AC, but doesn't try to stop him (you know, since he is all powerful and all), so that he can test the pitifull humans once again (which is what life basically is about, a test so he can decide if he likes you or not). So, tell me Magus, what is the difference between your "God" and a despot ruler of some third world country that kills anyone who doesn't genuflect in front of him? I'm sure that the despot ruler probably thinks he is righteous as well. Isn't that pretty much a matter of perspective? I find Braces_for_Impact's imagined view of you in the dark, wringing your hands, waiting for the day where you can say "I told you so, I told you so", to be fairly accurate. Is this because your "God" tells you that you should scorn those who do not beleive (which kind of contradicts "Love thy neighbor" doesn't it)? Your circular reasoning and paranoid fantasies of rapture of you and your clique, and of permanent torture of your enemies to be something you may cling to in times of hardship, but I think most people are going to be smart enough to know that some fairy tale in the sky isn't going to be able to do much to help them. To be quite honest with you, it is literalist (read fundies) like you that first turned me off to religon in the first place. Your holier than tho attitude and condescending tone irritates my ears, and troubles my mind. If I were speaking of the things you do, but not in a religious context (like replace every time you say "God" I say "Aliens from outer space") I may find myself in a nice padded room with a mind full of nice medicine and a straight jacket around my arms. |

As to the original OP...
I don't think there will ever come a time when you will be able to unite the entire world under one leader. The closest I can think of is Genghis Kahn. In his day he ruled half of the known world. Even he still had the other half to conquer, and that isn't even saying that his own people believed in him, which, as far as i can understand, that is one requirement in the AC. Beleif. The infidels of the world would unite eventually I would imagine. So unless I am misuderstanding the prophecie, I don't think it highly likely that it is one that could ever come true. |

Just curious Magus----
Not that I take the Bible literally. I don't. But you do. Explain to me the couple parts in the Bible that I see Fundies fudge on all the time. 1-----about the rich man and the camel trying to get through the eye of a needle. Is Bill Gates destined to go to hell? Are the Rockefellers? the Fords? the Bush's? --- etc. 2----about having to give away all your possessions in order to truly be a "saved" believer. No chance for "rapture" for any of these rich suckers right? No chance for "rapture" for anyone who does not give away all they possess and become homeless vagrants praising the Lord. N'est-ce pas? I see no Fundies doing anything like the previous. Best they can do is fudge around these "primary" Christian directives. Make up a bunch of stuff as to how the Bible does not really mean what it clearly states. A vous--------Magus ---------Do your best Fundy spinning. |

Let us praise God. O Lord, ooh, You are so big, so absolutely huge. Gosh, we're all really impressed down here, I can tell You. Forgive us, O Lord, for this, our dreadful toadying, and barefaced flattery. But You are so strong and, well, just so super. Amen. O Lord, please don't burn us. Don't grill or toast Your flock. Don't put us on the barbecue Or simmer us in stock. Don't braise or bake or boil us Or stir-fry us in a wok. Oh, please don't lightly poach us Or baste us with hot fat. Don't fricassee or roast us Or boil us in a vat, And please don't stick Thy servants, Lord, In a Rotissomat. |

All you who are trying to make Magus see the error of his ways:
Give it up. You can't get a Satan-worshipper to see he's actually worshipping Satan. For spreaders of hatred such as Magus and all other fundie Christians and Muslims there is a condition specially prepared for them: hell. It's not eternal but they get to learn their lesson. God is love and will not be blasphemed with such a satanic teaching of evil as Magus presents here. Repent thou, Magus, or hell is your destination! Even one day in hell is enough! |
