Question

I may be well wide of the mark, but when Jean "died" i noticed Iceman looking kinda strange. Is it possible he froze her before she could've drowned, thus avoiding the need to go into the Phoenix storyline?

I dunno, I thought the changes in Jean's eyes and the fire that surrounded her right before she died made the Phoenix storyline kind of inevitable.

Oh, hell, yes. That was during Peter David's run as writer, wasn't it? Best. X-Book. Ever.

That, and the end shot with the phoenix superimposed over the water.

Yeah. Exactly. And the fact that Jean Grey did the voice over at the end while they showed this. And maybe even Professor X's glance out the windows and subsequent "everything will be all right".

As we were leaving, my son spotted Jubilee in the closing credits. I imagine she's just one of the kids in the school, but I would have figured, during the invasion, that she would have . . . blown up something.

I seem to recall some firework like effects during the raid on the school that were initiated by a young girl. At the time I thought I wonder if thats supposed to be Jubilee.

I thought they did a great job putting in little inside bits for those that were into the X-Men universe instead of playing totally to the average movie goer. Including cameos of Beast and dropping names of possible future characters was great.
