Howdy all! I'm Ric, living in Rochester, NY, and for anything more, there's my profile, and I've posted my son's website on some other threads, so I guess I'm pretty traceable too.

I guess some folks fears about too much personal information out on the web stems from those stories of identity theft, which is apparently becoming more common. In some respects, the anonymity of the web makes it easier to 'become' someone else given enough information about that person.

I'm Paul, living in Halifax Canada. I wouldn't post my last name though, as there's only four other people in this city with the same surname (and every one is directly related to me).

Hey where abouts in Halifax are you if you don't mind my asking? I was born in Halifax but i grew up in Colby Village in Dartmouth. Halifax is still the best city i've ever been to though.

May be moving soon though, but have plans on returning in about 20 years.

yes, cyberstalkers, identity theives, potentially hostile folks are why. I don't hide my atheism/Humanism if that's part of your question, but there's lotsa kooks out there on the web (and off).

My name is Richard, and I am from Adelaide, South Australia. Anyone who knows me would probably be able to identify me from some of my posts, I suppose.

I don't have any particular issue about self-identification except natural caution about posting opinions on controversial subjects on the internet. That, and I sometimes post stories about other people I know, and I guess I feel better doing that knowing that my name is not attached (by which I mean, that my anonymity helps to preserve their anonymity, not that I like indulging in anonymous gossip!

)
