America, the only country in the world where you have the opportunity to buy a big over sized vehicle to commute in then be able to bitch and moan about high fuel costs.

Also the only country in the world where you can pay the lowest tax rates in the industrial world and still bitch and moan about how high they are.

I love America, if it just wasn't for the people.

It's hard for me to believe we're losing this fight for the environment.

The Sierra Club is launching a nationwide campaign to showcase what it sees as the dark side of SUV's - the brown haze of air pollution, weather disasters linked to global warming, and oil derricks chugging away to fill gas tanks.
Switching from an average new car to a 13 mpg SUV for a year would waste more energy than leaving a refrigerator door open for six years, a bathroom light burning for 30 years, or a color TV turned on for 28 years.

SUV's put out 43 percent more global-warming pollutants-28 pounds of carbon dioxide per gallon of gas consumed - and 47 percent more air pollution than the average car.
Raising the fuel-economy standards for SUV's and other light trucks to equal that of cars would save 1 million barrels of oil a day.
An average SUV or a pickup is more than twice as likely as a car to kill the driver of the other vehicle in a collision, and an SUV is four times as likely to roll over in an accident.
Dreading the day the SUV 500 comes to Fox!

That can piss me off so much! I was watching the news the other day and they had some woman at the pump, with a fucking Hummer or whatever they're called, complaining about the cost of fueling up. I'm pretty sure that same woman is going to drive into me in the near future and then complain about how much litter there is on the sidewalk when she makes it 100 feet forward and notices my mangled remains by the side of the road (the complaint shall be lodged to whomever is on the other end of her cellphone). They had another one, a guy at the pump talking about how "taxing gas is not a proper incentive to people to drive more often." :banghead: (If Canada counts as a seperate country it happens here too)
