Are you suggesting that Baugh, Hovind, or Ham have a coherent argument or any interest in making one?

I think that of the creationists he's the worst of the lot. I wasn't implying that the others were much better, but Haanegraf reaches a new low in intellectual honesty with his book "the Face that Demonstrates the Farce of Evolution.

He bases the whole damn thing on piltdown man without taking into account the hundreds of succesful honinid fossils.

Where does religion (any religion) have any kind of a fulfilled prediction anywhere close to what darwinian evolution has? Nowhere. Exactly.

What is even more scary is that Haanegraf has the ear of a lot of more serious christians. People will often listen to him when they won't listen to the others.

If you go to Amazon, there are 23 pages of the book online, but most are index pages.

Judging from the few introductory pages I read, I'd guess Hanegraaff is a YEC. Basically, he says that evolution is a Satanic deception, and the reason the idea was adopted so quickly was because it gave people license to have lots of sex.

Interestingly, the preface is by uber IDist, Phillip Johnson. There's also a blurb on the back cover by Charles Colson, who recommends the book because it supplies easy-to-remember acronyms you can throw in the face of 'evolutionists'.

Why complain? His organization is down a minimum of 37 cents a week because of this. That is 37 less cents that can be used for other purposes.

It appears they are just playing a recording he made for the book. He's not taking questions. Surprise!

How true, Bubba......I used to listen to him daily, along with John MacArthur when I was a 'believer' (talk about mindless indoctrination). Now I can't stand even listening to Hankie's nasal-Harvardesque, condescending tone. Even Thurston Howell doesn't sound as annoying. He knows his doctrine backwards and forwards, but he is a con-man and irrational dohlt of the highest order. I read that he used to draw ("bleed") a salary of about $750K from his little CRI shop, while paying his people "squat". Then all he does is pander for more money on the air, through the mail and over the phone. It's also obvious that he loves the attention he gets, and loves having his little ego massaged by all the gloating fans that call in paying him homage.

What REALLY turned me off about him though, was when I heard him interviewing his friend, William Lane Craig, and he actually asked him, "Why do you even bother to debate atheists?"

He made it sound as though the opposing argument from, the sub-species known as atheists, is SO ridiculous and absurd as to not even warrant a response. I couldn't believe my ears, made me realize what an absolute moron Hanegraaf truly is. This tells me why he screens skeptics off the air (not to mention they blow him away intellectually).

I have recently begun to listen to his shows on my way home from work (yes, I love the pain).

The main problem with him is that he comes across in a very confident, convincing manner that many believers latch on to.

I agree that most of his calls are set up for him to sound impressive. However, now and then he gets a question that he can't answer and it becomes hysterical. He will begin to use the largest polysyllabic words he can think of and string them together. I guess he thinks his audience will not have any idea what the words mean, and just assume he is right ('cause God is speaking through him!). Those "answers" make the pain of listening to him worthwhile.

&lt;edited because I rode the small bus to english class&gt;

Excellent point. <img src="graemlins/notworthy.gif" border="0" alt="[Not Worthy]" /> <img src="graemlins/notworthy.gif" border="0" alt="[Not Worthy]" /> <img src="graemlins/notworthy.gif" border="0" alt="[Not Worthy]" />

This may also explain why we see less criticism of Quantum Mechanics: it is funadmental to the, er, fundamentalist view of evolution -- oscillation between two states without any perceptible transition.
