I've grown very fond of Socratwit -- strike that! I don't want to sink to his level. It's Socrates , and the bones of that ancient worthy are no doubt spinning like a dervish in his grave.

Soc has a wonderful way of pissing off even those with whom he's not cooresponding or attacking. It almost amounts to a talent. What exactly are his credentials, anyway?

I have seen where phrases of his posts have been edited, but I doubt if he's ever lost a whole one.

Well, TW is, after all, 'their' site. Over there, we're stuck with their rules, as they would be with our's, here, even when they show favoritism, or change them in the middle of the game. Which, happily, I've yet to see here.

It would be interesting to see that threat -- what kind of lawsuit did he think he could put on? Even if the allegation were not true, and were made maliciously, what sort of damages can there be from a comment made in an internet chat room? That is what some lawsuit happy people don't seem to get -- even with harm, if there are no damages you don't have a case. What is the monetary value of Jan's reputation in an internet chat room?

Rufus does not agree, but I think he is. There are a number of reasons, but a pretty clear one to me was that I had posted my amazon.com review of Sarfati's pulp fiction "Refuting Evolution" and it was deleted. I reposted it in another thread dealing with some of Sarfati's articles, and it was deleted again and I was told that it violated the rule about trying to remove other poster's anonymity, or words to that effect....

Yeah, I need pages 198-219. Apparently that's the section where they talk about operations and origins science. Then I can write an article on the topic. Good grief! I just blew off a private college here in sunny So Cal for a fourth of the BS you seem to live with.

My wife (with a MA in TESOL) will retire in about 5 years, and we plan to travel from college to college around the world on part-time teaching gigs. I think we will skip Taiwan.
