Uhh...

Quote:
Then God said, "And now we will make human beings, they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small." So God created human beings, making them to be like himself.
Genesis 1:26-27
('Scuse my kiddies' bible; it's the only one I have on me)

That sounds pretty much like God created man to look like him, to me.

Question: if spiritual beings don't have legs, do they have eyes?

(Edited to add one quotation mark, for all of the pedants out there)

I'm sorry to say this, Ed, but you are a Revisionist.
You wrote: "...God is a spiritual being, ie non-physical, so He does not have legs."
That is an astonishing remark.
In another strand (Ed's Little Difficulty) you state that there is no problem about believers in god having different ideas as to the precise nature of what it is they believe in because Scripture is one of two exterior arbiters – the Universe being the other – which define it for them.
That, however, only works (but not comprehensively) if the believer takes everything stated in the Bible as the literal truth and avoids the temptation of editing out the bits which don't quite fit in with what he or she is able to believe.
In this respect I had thought you were a pretty sound Fundamentalist: you exhibit, after all, an impressive ability to take the story of Creation and Noah and the Flood as the literal truth.
So what`s going on in your head which allows you to ignore this:
Genesis 8: And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9: But the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
Once you start editing the Bible and think you have the right to decide which bits ought to be taken literally and which not, you are on the road to schism, religious wars and persecution. And the "little didffuclty" I spoke of in that other strand is whacking you into the ground.

This is interesting but... erm... just wondering when it's going to have an evolution slant...
