I notice (without any great surprise) that Magus has ignored my questions about how we know where Jesus' tomb is. Does that mean you can't answer them Magus?

No, it means that it's god's will that he doesn't answer.

BGic: When are you going to post the reasons that make you 95% certain that Jesus was resurrected?

I think you should have added another category to your poll: "Other view".

I wouldn't want to sign up to any of the choices on offer.

Indeed, basically it comes down to two choices: either a historical figure existed, in which case he is dead and his body long since decomposed and gone, or if no actual figure ever exited, then nothing.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough historical material to decide between which "nothing."

Now, can we move on to important matters?

And the third option is, God exists, and Jesus was ressurected from the grave.

Run away from any serious questions and when a small opening appears hit it =/

Default Euekerrest. (Great dinner seats, hey buddy?)

JW:
There is a Natural explanation as to what happened to The Body that has support in the Text of the Christian Bible:

Matthew 26: (KJV)

"26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."

Jesus' disciples ate his body! Also, is it just a coincidence that "Peter" is leading the discussion here?

Nice to see you're still reading the thread Magus. For a moment I thought you'd run away or something.

So, how are you getting on with that list of archaeologists who are "pretty sure they know what tomb He [Jesus] was buried in"?

Actually, there are infinite supernatural possibilities. Another option is that Jesus was snatched from his grave by a horde of demons for his audacity in claiming divine status. One was left behind to impersonate an angel to inspire the false religion now known as Christianity.

Which goes to show how meaningless supernatural explanations are.

Well, I figured Magus would run away from any critical thinking exercise like it was some kind of Satanic temptation.

IIRC, there are at least two competing sites in Jerusalem claimed to be the tomb of Jesus, with "good" arguments for both. Note, Magus, that both of these sites are empty - undoubtedly like many other gravesites in Jerusalem, Israel, and the rest of the world.

Apparently, resurrection is happening all over the place, all the time. Otherwise, all those bodies would still be there.
