I don't know why you assume this. I have been to India, including Calcutta. I'm not sure what you mean by "nooks and crannies".

All your citing of other catholic organisations is simply a smokescreen to obscure any shortcomings of MT.

I'm not even sure what your point is about the church and sexuality. The catholic church does not accept modern contraceptive methods. It only permits so-called "natural contraception", otherwise known as "Vatican roulette". (Ancient joke: What do you call people who practise natural contraception? -- Parents!) Even that was forbidden for a long time.

In fact it not only tells catholics that they mustn't use modern contraception, it puts an enormous amount of effort into trying to stop the poor of all beliefs from using it. Of course, a majority of catholics in developed countries ignore the church's teaching on contraception and follow their own consciences. Poor people in poor countries have a harder time.

Sounds like another version of Mother Theresa.

Sometimes people who have a religious experience do wierd things such as sell all their belongings and give them to the poor. Others give from their richess. Lucky for us that we have the poor or is it maybe true that we have the poor because we are rich and they are a reflection of our own suffering?

OK, well first you should find a quiet, peaceful spot where privacy is assured. Perhaps some lubricant might be useful, too. Next, conjure up an erotic image in your mind....

Typical Christian (and especially Catholic) pseudo-philosophy from the limited minds that pass for intellectual leadership in the Catholic Church.

Poverty sucks. The world would be a better place if there were no poor people.

Even clean sheets are debatable. Apparently depending on who is in charge, the refuges can be dirty or clean.
According to one person an orphanage is wonderfully kept, according to another a hospital was digustingly filthy.

Now you sound like an Englishman in who's mind pleasure can be conceived to exist without pain.

Best thing for you to do would be to sell all your belongings and learn from the poor that happiness in not derrived from worldly richess or only the rich could be happy (Old English law was based on this). You may at that time learn that the true beauty of gold lies in our ability to walk away from it.

Why sell? What would he or she do with the money? Put it in Dick Cheney's blind trust?

I have a better idea, Amo-san. Why don't you just give ME all YOUR worldly possesions, (starting with the expensive "Western technology" computer you are using to post here), and then live as you so presumtuously tell others to.

Sorry galiel, I am not a giver because I never feel quite guilty enough to do so. Let's just say that I am quite content with the poverty that exist in the world even if I often condemn those that are responsible for it.

Teresa is dead
Did any one see her take some booty to purgatory
Not much solid facts
No one is taking the order to court, yet
Disregard that money is going to a big Vatican family of crooks and saints naturally
No one named any flawless charity
Next move-

With growing fame, the founder of the order became somewhat conscious of the misconceptions on which the Mother Teresa phenomenon was based. She wrote a few words and hung them outside Mother House:

"Tell them we are not here for work, we are here for Jesus. We are religious above all else. We are not social workers, not teachers, not doctors. We are nuns."
