Default Annoying little so and so...

Foolishly, I started a thread a Christian Forums, asking members there to categorise their beliefs. Inevitably, some annoying little fellow calling himself Outspoken replied, disputing definitions of agnostic and weak atheist, saying that there is no such thing as a weak atheist.

To view this car smash of a thread, have a look here.

How terribly frustration this person is. He has been told time and again, but he blithely sails on, repeating the same mindless drivel.

I really want to set hime straight, but it's beyond my feeble powers.

*sigh*

If anyone feels that they can do better, they're welcome to try.

Cheers,
Prax

arrrghh! i despise outspoken, he completely avoids the issue of choice vs. aversion therapy in the homosexuality discussions.

most of his arguments comprise of "just because", absolutely infuriating.

And yet, I can't seem to help myself! I think I have a hitherto undiscovered morbid streak. It's kind of like some species of self destructive habit.

Isn't this the guy who, in another thread, said that thanks to faithful loyalty to "thou shalt not bear false witness", he wouldn't lie to an SS officer who asks him if he is hiding Jews in his house. When confronted by someone else with the question "Either you lie, or the Jews die. What's it gonna be?" his answer was something like "too bad for them".

I don't know if this is the same character or not, not having read the abovementioned thread. Outspoken seems to have a similar bizarre outlook, so it may well be.

How inspiring.

I'm sorry, the only thing I could possibly think to say to this guy is "whatever".

Ooh, now we can add "subscribing to Kantian ethics" to his list of offenses against the rational mind.

Refusing to say anything is a very good way to get your house searched in those circumstances. You can either help the SS wipe out the Jews, or you can lie. If you lie, the Jews live. If you tell the truth, or hedge, they die.

Outspoken:
Ahh..the sin of convienance. sorry, I'd not have sinned seebs, and I think Christ agreed with me...He could have called his legions of angels down..hey, he got ON the cross, that was good enough right.... Sorry, I'm not lukewarm

Personally, I laugh at how frustrated you guys get over the opinion of some psychotic little putz. Do you really think that posting your ideas is going to teach him to think rationally? Do you really expect to sway him?

You will never write anything that will change him. He will need to experience something that alters his opinion on his own. That's one of the many lessons I've learned from and from being xian. (Thank god I'm not an xian any more )

[Admin hat off]

I could be wrong but I believe that Outspoken is LouisBooth's (an Admin on the site) sock puppet. I have been all through the issue of weak vs strong atheist with Louis. I don't think that you will make any constructive progress.

You might consider not wasting your time unless you think that others who are reading the thread will benefit.
