... I don't know sometimes, but sometimes the idea of trying to view another Atheist in these Message Boards with Postings with and from other people. I think that it is usually to find something you have in common with others? Or Not something that is in common with others that is different in another person? Or is it both? How much Diversity and what kinds of Diversity is an Atheist willing to accept of other Atheist? Are we aware that just because we are Atheist, that we should be having the same views on everything else? Can any of us accept those other views and diversities of others? I'm curious of the statistics on this.
( As long as it isn't criminal, disrespect, causing trouble to someone else, hurting or killing something.) Those Exceptions, I like to Hear what they are if you can Post and expain them? |

I'm an agnostic, but I base my views on diversity on my politics (that being classical liberal).
Generally I feel ALL should be free to form and hold differing opinions and act freely whilst respecting others freedoms and not infringing on the rights of others. |

I think you need to define "diversity". The only common factor atheists share is a disbelief in deities. On all other topics and subjects they are as diverse as any other segment of the popultaion.

I've typically held the view that if you've examined your religious beliefs enough to discard them, chances are you've done the same with other aspects of life. As a result, I think most atheists are on the same level - at least in approach. This is obviously not always the case, and for someone raised an atheist, things may or may not be different. I find more disagreement between atheists in regards to what extent we should respect religion and its grip on society.
Edited to add: I prefer people who approach things the same way I do (even if we end up at two different conclusions). People who share my views but derive them differently make me uncomfortable - especially when their method caves in to supernatural belief. |

... I went with: "I Accept Most Diversity and Some I Expect To Follow My Ideas." ... Cause I'm sure we just wouldn't like many people without some common: Race?, Sexual Preferences?, Life Style Similarities?, Having some same Interest?, Same Views of things?, feeling mutual with how a person is by their thoughts and bilogical being?, Someone's possition and statis on life?, Some similar Moral views?, and some way to have most common things with many other things? Yet, at the same time. If anyone has a Diversity to any of this. I have no prejudges or feel a certain person should be a bad person or a person that deserves to be Ostracized or ignored. Or Not worth tolerating for having something that is different from any kind of point of view. I agree that Atheism, is suppose to be mostly the only common thing, while at the same time we can all be different in all these other things. I am wanting to raise some awareness on this scoop, is pretty much what this is all about. |

Well why would an atheist necessarily possess an 'anything goes' sensibility?

... I think Religion is made to Discriminate Diversity. It's to subjugate people to conform to Narrow Ideals and Ideas of the Religion and try to make this Same Kind Of Subjective Thinking.
... Yet, I find that with half of some "Atheist". Getting respect with or for Diversity, is not excapable as not wanting Religion. You still have another Crowd of People, I feel that still like to Discriminate Diversity and subjugate people to conform to Narrow Ideals and Ideas of other outlooks on life with these individuals. ... Cause some of these Atheist also are not at my best interest. |

I just can't accept religious views, and I'm a little harsh on political views.
Some of the religious stuff is because those idiots come to our board. I have never ever gone to any religious board to tell them they're wrong, but when they come here to tell me I'm wrong, I cannot tolerate them. |

Religion, as long as people aren't RABID about it, I'm fine. So that means that I can't handle fundamentalists very well.
Politics, if I consider people pragmatic (or at least somewhat realistic) in their views, I don't mind disagreeance. Of course, that's sort of open to debate. For, someone who suggests that we should tear apart society and go for anarchy will be tagged as 'mentally defunct'. *shrug* Someone who suggests that we should eliminate the President and go to a triumvirate, well, I'll disagree with him/her, but I won't particularly mind. Intelligent arguments are fun. I guess I can deal with rational and sane peoplecrazies, well, yeah. :banghead: |
