The men hugging men thread got me thinking. I have no problems hugging my guy friends (although it's not nearly as nice as hugging my female friends

) but I have one friend that I have never hugged. He's pretty short (5'2"), and somehow it just seems too awkward. Granted, I've only seen him hug another guy once, so maybe he's just not a hugger. But I feel like bending over him to give him a hug is pretty awkward for me and can't help but think that it would be very awkward for him.

This all first occured to me the one time I saw him hug a mutual friend of ours. It had been a couple of weeks since either of us had seen him, so he gave us each a big ol' hug. But then I realized that it had been nearly a month since I had seen my shorter friend, so shouldn't we hug, too?

Thoughts? Thoughts from shorter guys?

(Eventually there will be threads titled TALL FLY-FISHING GAY MEN HUGGING STRAIGHT ABORIGINAL BILATERAL AMPUTEES?)
