Default HOWARD DEAN is OUR man. Is anyone listening?

"We have got to stand up to the right wing fundamentalist preachers and say "We want our country back"!!

"I'm tired of listening to fundamentalist preachers"

"I don't want to listen to fundamentalist preachers anymore!"

Though he nominally tags himself a Congregationalist, I believe he's the closest thing to a freethinker running for office since Abraham Lincoln. I've been to a couple of meet-ups and believe me, other freethinkers are backing this guy, too.

It's almost enough to make this athiest say "There is a God".

Please, please check him out at
www.deanforamerica.com,
or just google: Howard Dean and Fundamentalist Preachers and see what pops up.
Let's get a buzz going about this guy!

Drunk or not, Grant proposed taxing churches. Can you imagine any politician even thinking about that today?

I don't think the parishoners at St. Bernadette's would go for that. They'd get everybody in the diocese to boycott something congregational.

The Sunday political shows are talking about him. Some say he's not electable, but I'm wondering if those analysts remember why Gore lost. Dean and Kerry need to stop quarreling, though.

Default Why...

would the good people at St. Bernadette's have a problem with Congregationalists?
Universalists maybe, but Congregationalists are pretty mainstream.

I believe that if pressed, Dean would profess an abiding faith in God, blah blah blah, but with the same amount of spiritual energy that my girlfriend expends so that her daughter can walk the halls of St. Ignatious T. Reilly without being harrassed.

And tommorrow he's going to present details on his universal health care plan, which from the preliminary details i've seen, might actually have a chance of working.

Two months ago Dean was a longshot fringe candidate, and now he's tied for first place in NH, rising in popularity in Iowa, and is considered one of the top five candidates. He's also building a nationwide network of volunteers with meetup.com (23000 sign up so far). I think that's pretty impressive.

Sorry. Can't do it. As appealing as it is to send a message to the nation in favor of the seperation of church and state, I can't bring myself to support an individual looking to expand the powers of government.

I won't be supporting president Bush or any other politician involved with the Patriot Act, either.

Default But Majestyk...

Dean is the former governor of Vermont. He had nothing to do with the Patriot Act. He's agin' it. He also wants to repeal bushes tax cuts. Check out his website. This is a solid candidate. If you can find and download his speech from California, I guarantee you'll want to know more....

I'll look for the link.
