Default "Atheist and proud of it"

Said by Salman Rushdie.

I've never read any of his books, but I have to say I admire the man.

Atheist, proud of it.

That, my friend, will be my next bumper sticker.

Who's with me?

I think I will stick with my W.W.H.D? sticker. The WWHD? stands for What Would Henry Do? and has a pic of Henry Rollins on it in all of his angry glory.

Otherwise, the bumper sticker is just an inside joke. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not in line with my original suggestion.

1) Yes, if I remember correctly. Agnostic at worst.
2) Most likely, he's a notorious 'badboy' in the same way as a lot of singers. It's much like saying 'What Would Keith Richards Do?' Or 'Who Would Madonna Do?'
3) If said driver is under 35, most likely.

As far as singers from the 80s/90s go he is pretty darn famous. He was in Black Flag during their height, one of the most important 80s hardcore bands. Then he formed his own band that does pretty well, he wrote a famosu rock book ('get in the van") and does a lot of spoken word stuff.

nothing but pops & whistles.

What's really funny is that I have been pretty heavily into rock music since maybe 1980, and I didn't recognize him, the band, or the book.

Either he's not as famous as you think or I'm not as into music as I think.
