Thanks for clearing that up for me. Be advised I have no desire at all to live or work in a society where something can be said to be "owned," collectively or individually, by someone who has no interest at all in its success or failure or who chooses to derive benefits from it without also accepting the attendant risks and responsibilities of ownership as commonly understood.

I own my labor and I choose what to do with it, within reason. I own my property and I choose what to do with it, within reason. If your socialist society is any different from this I and others will oppose it to our last days.

And that, in the last analysis (I hope), is why socialism has not worked and will never work.

becasue you dont' like it?

anyways you are incorrect. Socialism has worked. 99.9 percent of human history was spent in proto-anarchist and proto-communist societies. THere have been numerous examples of socialist societies throughout history (pirate utopias, communes, paris commune, spain 1936, beginning of Russian revolution, Makhnovist russia, etc... etc...)

Ivan: people would certainly have an interest in the success or failure of their communities would they not?

anyway if this is really your view of socialism Id suggest you read up on it a little more. Not to try to convience you of the truth, but just so you get a good idea where others are coming from. Socailism is a very broad term, and a thread on II is not the place to learn about it.
