Post Kick Their Ass and Take Their Gas

Quote:
Acting unilaterally, the U.S. has moved to radically restructure Iraq's oil industry on the model of a Western private corporation, with a chief executive and a management team, vetted by American officials, who would answer to a "multinational" board of advisers. Oil production is now under the control of former ExxonMobil executive Gary Vogler, who has publicly warned Iraq's indigenous oil ministers not to make any decisions without the approval of allied forces

"Some day, son, this will all be one company".

That was the caption to a single frame cartoon I saw in a magazine a few years back. I'm reminded of it from time to time.

The graphic was of an older man in a ten-gallon hat with one arm around his grandchild, looking through the window of an upper level CBD office building, his other arm gesturing across the city skyline's sunset silhouette....<sssss!>..... and out past the harbour.

Welcome.
To the New American Century, brought to you by Texaco...

lunachick,

Your post reminds me of the lyrics posted below:

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? It's alright we told you what to dream.

Kinda like Saddam did to Kuwait in 1991.
