What, is Iran nuts? Surely they would know the ramifications of making something like that public?

Or, perhaps, this is Iran's way of saying "Bring 'em on!"

I think it's more along the lines of, "they're going to attack us anyway. Might as well put the oil issue up front this time."

What the hell is a "Senior Oil Official?"

Also, how old is this so-called "Official?" I ceased using the word "biggest" when I graduated from middle school.

You know, like "I have the biggest, bestest boobs in the whole entire school"

Sheeesh!!!

The other term will be
"We are spreading freedom to the Iranian people".

Presumably Iran has a government ministry (or department, or whatever they'd call it) in charge of their oil industry. Obviously a "senior oil official" would be a higher up in that department, someone who'd been there a good while and had an important position.

Firstly, the sentence using the word "biggest" was not a direct quote, so it is not neccessarily the word actually used by the official (I doubt the official was speaking in English anyway). Secondly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the word "biggest," nor is the use of it juvenile sounding (except, apparently, to you).

I don't think the US could invade Iran that quickly. Where would they get enough ground troops to invade a country of 60 million people? They already have like 150,000 tied up in Iraq, 37,000 in Korea and I forget how many in Afghanistan (anyone know?).

If it took 200,000 to invade Iraq (an impoverished nation of 20 million), then it would take a minimum of like 600-800 thousand troops to invade Iran. And Iran's military was more powerful then Iraq's was anyway (they didn't have to deal with 12 years of economic sanctions). And the Iranians (including the ones that hate the clerics) don't want the old Shah's son (who currently lives in Maryland) to rule their country.

In Afghanistan? Maybe two.

But we're looking to get out of Iraq (or at least the soldiers are). Further, we can pull probably another 300000 out of reservists and maybe even call up the guard.

And the Iraqi's don't want Chalabi to rule their country, but it looks like we're going to put him in anyhow. Since when has Dumbya cared about the desires of other nations?
