Default Atheist character--guy or girl? Opinions please!

I've been toying with development on a comic about a team of anti-hero freedom fighters, I wanted to have a character who goes by the name "The Atheist", but I can't decide whether to make this character a man or woman. So who better to ask about that than actual atheists!

Note--I may use the great Ronin as a bit of my influence.

Please tell me a little about why you think it should be a guy or a girl.

Also note--these are the "good" guys in as close a sense as I can get, I don't tend to write black-and-white stories, so this athiest will be one of the heroes, fighting empirical superpowers (hint hint) and maybe even sowing seeds of doubt and deconverting believers as he/she goes on. None of those baseless old shit stories about the atheist who "comes to Christ", no stupid Signs scenarios. I want to tribute you guys here!

Flip a coin. Then write the character as whatever comes up for a bit of a test run. Change it if it doesn't work.

Damn.

No one has any opinions one way or another? I really can't decide. Most characters I've already gotten an idea for, complete with a full beginning for the look. In this I am really lost. I was hoping some opinions might help me get an image in my mind.

The thing is, whichever sex the Atheist is, the Anarchist is going to be the opposite, and I am just jumping back and forth between the two.

Geaz, I really need a good Nutwatch--is anyone else on withdrawl from that? I could swear she said she'd bring it back February and here it is nearing April. Oh Queen of Swords, why hast thou forsaken us?

:boohoo:

Go with the woman, we need a higher percentage of them as good role models, IMO.

Besides, godless chicks are cool

Since this is a comic book, she should have large, perfectly firm breasts, with no sign of a bra-line under her skin-tight costume.

Hey, no prob there. I draw such gorgeous women that everyone thought I was a lesbian in high school--probably still do!

It does seem that most atheistic characters in stories are guys though.

Anyone else?

Well the Anarchist should clearly be a chick because of the Emma Goldman free love angle. Given that, I say make the Atheist a dude and give the pair of them lots of hot and nasty anti-authoritarian Bonobo sex.

Thumbs up

I have to go with 'The Atheist' as a female character.

Panelology is an influential medium and, quite honestly, there simply are not enough women role models for either gender to consider as positive and strong.

Of course, I may be biased ~ to this day there has yet to be anything as intoxicating in real terms as actually meeting the rare and elusive female atheist...uh, human...not bonobo.

It doesn't matter...
As long as the comic at least has wild bonobo sex in it it's a good one....
