Well,I try.But there's only so much that one person can do.

Fascinating subject.I'll have to peruse those links you gave, lunachick.I was aware of the general nature of pornographic literature among those cultures, but it certainly couldn't hurt to,*ahem* bone up on a few more facts.

Christianity

The worst thing to have ever been developed by human kind.

I agree. The bible is one of the worst pieces of literature out there.

Preserved for as long as even one copy exists, are the anti sexual rantings of a bunch of nomadic savages living three thousand years ago, likely because the neighbouring religions were more sexually open than themselves.

Branches of Christianity can die off,but the teachings in that book survive, and continue to 'teach' new generations.

Someone should come out with a version, that has all of the hateful bits removed.I suspect it would be more a pamphlet, than a book, however.

Please do.

My fascination lies within the transition. Why? Where? Who? How?

Why, 'obviously not'?

There are parallels with morality and philosophy in the west. Was there a period in history when influences converged, and sexual repression and censorship became the basis for mass control? Consciously Christian, or not?

Christianity has never had more than it's toe in the door in China. How could it have been the driving force behind their prudery?

In what way?

- I'm genuinely interested, btw; I'm not just trolling.

I don't remember off the top of my head, I've seen various things about him.

I wasn't sure how far Christianity had reached into China, or for how long. I know there are/were pockets of Christians in some provinces.
