Shadowy Man, is your amazing crop formation really a closeup photo of a psychedelically-patterned car floor mat, or is it just me...?

There is even a Czech Circlemakers' site*. It always gives me a chuckle when I read what phenomena the crop circle "researchers" find in their circles:
They claim that if humans made the circle, they would have to possess the art of anti-gravity, since they couldn't find any human tracks. (They overlooked a tractor track the circlemakers used to get there.) They detect magnetic anomalies there, or even a "transdimensional energy substance" (whatever that means). They report that animals avoid the area. (I will never know how they could find out. Did they watch it for several days without a pause?) They claim that the circles are genuine, because the stems are bent rather than broken. (Bent stems appear in man-made cirles when the crops are young and/or wet after a rain.) And how do they respond when the circlemakers confess? Quote:

Seeing as the validity of crop circles is not being debated (unless we think aliens from the planet "Wheetabix" are visiting us), I think this topic is more of an Elsewhere topic.

I don't think all the crop circles are created by pranksters. Some of the creators are serious artists, in fact some of their work is truly amazing. However, if I were a farmer I would be pretty pissed off about losing all that money. Perhaps the farmers should have fields set aside for that purpose and charge the "aliens" fees.
I was glancing through some of the BLT sites research on plant abnormalities. All the yapping about control plants and such. I wonder if they have flattened any plants using the boards that circle makers used to see if they get the same abnormalites. Seems like all that stuff they go on about could be caused by folks walking over the plants with boards. Instead, they assume aliens did it and use the differences they find to be suggestive of plasma fields, magnetic disturbances and other hoakem. Well, its good for a laugh anyway. |
