Sorry, got to cut you off there.

The JREF forum has been overrun by trolls, mainly as a result of people confusing freedom of speech with freedom of expression. This meaning that behavior is not stopped (although occasionally it is moved to another forum, although Jeebus knows why)

For example, the Religion & Philosophy forum is owned by a certain Franko, who posts the same crap over and over, demolishing all threads in his path. (Last time I looked he had posted over 150 times in the last week with the same demented crap)

The Politics and Current Events forum has been taken over by Jedi Knight, a troll who amuses himself with baiting atheists by continually asserting that Hitler was an atheist, Nazi Germany was atheistic and that atheists operated the gas chambers. His politics appear to be to the right of Genghis Khan. He then accuses atheists of being hatemongers when they object to his "objective" analysis.

Don't believe me? Run a search on those two names and read for yourself.

The final straw for me came when a certain David Wilson began threads in the Science forum that continually blamed all of the world's (environmental) woes on scientists and atheists and then proceeded to trash as many threads as possible. When I was participating in a thread about Global Warming, he trashed the thread, and then when I protested, said that he would leave my threads alone as long as a) I didn't post in his threads and b) I posted "sensibly".

I told David Wilson to fuck off and die.

Protests to the moderators about my freedom of speech produced exactly nothing. I left the board. :banghead:

I am a member of the JREF and support the work of James Randi to challenge the claims of the fakers, charlatans and non-miracle workers who fleece the gullible.

But the JREF forum is overrun by abusive trolls leading to self-censorship by people who post civilly. :banghead: The result is that very little constructive discussion is made because everybody's avoiding a tiny minority.

By the way, the JREF believes that the moderation in Internet Infidels is restrictive censorship. No kidding.

I love the Religion and Philosophy forum on Randi's site. The subtitle of the forum is "Because who could have an opinion on these two topics?" That is just too funny.

This has been going on for at least a year. Some posters even tried to setup a Secret R&P forum in a completely unrelated forum to get some troll-free quality philosophizing until Franko found it and trolled that one as well. Have a look in the "Flame War" section, in the "Cheap Seats" forum.

I amused myself for hours this morning reading the James Randi thread about the guy who was claiming the million dollars. The bit about rocks and trees and animals having souls, but only human souls are immortal, was a trip. Gives new meaning to LOL. Thanks for the site.
