I'm slightly old-school so my favorites are:

Rush
Yes
King Crimson
Spock's Beard
The Police
U2
My Bloody Valentine
Genesis (Gabriel/Hackett-era)
Primus
REM

I also have a slightly guilty pleasure for Iron Maiden and Blue Oyster Cult.

Nine Inch Nails - Still going strong!

Toadies - Broken up but just saw them play anyway !?!?

The Pixies - Gone but not forgotten!

Jane's Addiction - Releasing a new album in 2003!

Public Enemy - Still around but they seem to be past their prime. I still think Chuck D has the best voice in rap though!

Beastie Boys - Any questions?

The Reverend Horton Heat - A regional rockabilly act act, based in Dallas, TX. Don't miss out if he comes to your town!

Monster Magnet - If you want unadorned rock, this is the band to see (bring your own rolling papers.)

Ministry - Nuff Said!

The Pharcyde - Sweet Sweet Pharcyde. If you like hip hop check them out (first two albums are the best).
