Are there any folks here that were members of the American Society of Zoologists before it changed its name to the Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology? The reason I ask is, I came across a biography of a creationist 'biologist', Gary Parker, Ed.D (I know, its an education degree), which says he was 'elected' a member of the ASZ, 'for his work on tadpoles'
. The current executive director of the SICB says he is unaware of any procedure for election of members in the ASZ--as far as he knew membership was always open. Can anyone here confirm that? BTW, Parker is no longer an active member--I think, if he was a member, it was in the 60's.KC |
