If not a choice in the matter, then at least an education regarding every other religion and the non-religous philosophies?

I am currently homeschooling my children. The public schools are becoming more dangerous and corrupt. I fear for their safety and what the public schools will teach them. I have no problem with some subjects (e.g. English, Math) but my husband and I wouldn't agree with some of the scientific teachings.
Now I know why so many fundies hold to creationism in spite of the evidence. It's because their momma told 'em to. If you want the best for your children, teach them to reason and think, let them be exposed to what's out there, and let them make up their own minds about the world. |

My children can have friends but only if they are Christians and attend a strong Biblical church. My husband and I see nothing wrong with not allowing our children to mingle with atheists and members of other religions. The Lord Jesus called His followers to live within believing communities. |

'It's not necessary. You may know that the Bible teaches that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through the Lord Jesus. My family follows the teachings of the Holy Bible. It could be considered sinful to learn about other religions because they could cause confusion and cause a believer to stumble on the Lord's path. Why would we want to learn about anything other religion when we already belong to the one and only true religion? I said when I first joined this board that I'm not afraid to proclaim the truth about my faith.'
Let me now preacheth from the great and true magic spellbook ~ Timothy I: 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. Therefore, begone or I'll sick Gawd on ya. TC, I sure hope you're not the one teaching your children!?! Ooooh, you are so in troubullllll *puts on some Randy Travis, pours a Guinness and waits for the imminent TrueChristian(tm) Two-Step to begin...wait forrrr itttt* |

First of all, True C, thanks for posting on this forum. Despite a few beligerent replies, for the most part we desire conversation... and welcome differing oppinions.
That said, I think you are an unfit parent and are a threat to your childrens', and humanities, well-being. Quote:
