Welcome to the board, Puck. Some of us have a weird sense of humor.

The worst part was always falling off the fridge in front of company all the time.

I really am gone, but I forgot to say one thing, and this thread reminded me of it:

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Between the nonexistence of hell and my current level of self esteem, I'd say you may very well be right.

Come up here, I'll build you back up you sexy woman, my email is [email protected]. Don't blush, be yourself. Love ya.

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way...

Hey, why not...

1) I'm the only person I know who's happy being completely by myself for long periods of time. I'm living alone this year for the first time, and the difference in my happiness is enormous. I also have a lot more energy.

2) I absolutely hate heat, and would be perfectly happy if it was 55 degrees Farenheit all the time...

3) as long as it was sunny, since I also hate gray days, and a few in a row, if combined with other frustrations, can cause suicidal thoughts.

4) Fantasy is the only genre that holds any widespread interest for me. I also like a few science fiction and horror authors, but not many. I can't recall one "mainstream" fiction book that I've read in the past ten years and liked.

5) Almost all the poetry I like was written before 1900- and almost all of it is British rather than American.

6) My absolute favorite poet is Shelley.

7) The only toys I liked as a really young child were books. I made my parents read them to me over and over until I learned to read on my own at four (at which point they breathed a sigh of relief ).

8) I have a bad habit of assuming that everyone around me already knows what I'm talking about, so that I'll say weird things sometimes and produce looks of total incomprehension.

9) I spend far, far more time on the Internet than watching television.

10) I love to write. I obsess about writing. If I can't write for some reason for a few days (even if it's just a few hundred words on something) I get easily distracted and very snappish.

Weirdness done.

-Perchance.

Don't stay gone, galiel. You contributed a lot of good things to this board. We love you too! I took a break from the boards for months but came back. You can too!

Me (as quoted by rbochnermd):I'm a Christian intent on evangelizing you all...9) I absolutely love dogs.

rbochnermd: I suspect that you and "I hate christians who want to convert people" gsx1138 won't be friends anytime soon.
You're probably right, but hopefully wrong. (By the way, I read where gsx1138 said that about Christians, and I thought I might as well include something that would "get his or her goat" as well as being truthful. )

rbochnermd: On the other hand, you're a dog-lover, so you can't be all bad.
Likewise, if you're also a dog-lover, which apparently you are. But you really need to work on your screen name.

Me: 10) God has spoken to me around 12 times.

rbochnermd: Why so many?
So many? That only averages to about once a year of my Christian life (I've been a Christian since 1989). That doesn't really seem all that often.

Quote:
rbochnermd: Didn't you get the message the first time?
Did I say that the message was the same each of the 12 times that God spoke to me? I didn't? I'll list the things I believe God has spoken to me - just to give an idea of what I'm talking about - in chronological order, with the year in which they were given: "Wait until she has reconciled with her father" [1984]; "Learn to love" [1987]; "You did not love them" [1990]; (referring to me "My student" [1991]; (also referring to me "Behold the candidate" [1992]; "Be My witness" [1993]; "When it is spoken by Iraq" [1993]; "Where is the love?" [1993]; "He's the one" [1993]; "Shabbat - Welcome to My time" [1994]; (this one I'm not sure of) "The seven hills are in France" [1994]; "It is woven into the fabric of time" [1996]. I'm sure there are other, more recent ones that I am just not thinking of at the moment. Note also that each of the things God spoke to me were only one sentence in length, and short sentences, at that.

Quote:
rbochnermd: Were you smokin' that bong and polishing-off that bottle of JD when he did speak to you?
Tee-hee, no. But that night I did have an excellent philosophical discussion with the homeowner's cat, although I can't remember a word of it.

In Christ,

Douglas
