Question Views of Death and Beyond

What are the infidel's views of death and the body and soul after death?

The body rots and there is no soul, thanks for asking.

There is no such thing as a soul. That is just an Iron Age misunderstanding of the conscience mind. The mind is nothing more than the functionings of your brain.
When you are dead, your brain has ceased to function so there is not longer a mind.
Your body will either rot, be burned or mummified. It won't matter to you.

The infidels views on the soul is…

Define it…then prove it exists.

Their view on the body is…

A jumbled mass of accidental chemical reactions.

Their view of death is…

When you are dead your dead. Cease to exist.

To die, to sleep no more, and by a sleep to say we end the heartache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to. Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished.

People sometimes ask me if I beleive personality survives death. I tell them, it doesn't survive dinner.

Your sense of self is an ever-changing definition, in constant flux. Tape two of your fingers together, and within a few months your brain will assume they are just one finger. Chop off a hand, and your brain doesn't hesitate to adjust its image of self. Your personality depends on your brain chemistry and arrangement, both of which are changing from minute to minute.

Self-identity is not a fact; it is a function. When I ask you to identify yourself, you do not pull out a standard definition: you perform an analysis and present the results. You do this every single time you are asked to define self, so clearly the results can be different from question to question, from second to second.

Soul is not a thing: it is a process. When the hardware that executes that process ceases to function, the process ceases.

Hmmm... "I think, therefore I get spam."

Doesn't quite have the same ring, does it?
