Thanks foir the compliment Mageth, but my patients die. I like to donate for people to live. IIRC, you have a family member who is a DAV.
What kind of organizations do you donate to, I wonder because I have considered donating money, but I dont want to be involved with an xian organization.

Kally, you're totally missing the intent of my posts on this thread. I did not mean to imply that you don't donate, or to brag about any donations that I may have made. I was merely trying to point out that the "little guys" that donate money to such causes are just as commendable as the "big guys."

Peace.
Hello Mageth... forgive the comparaison of your comment with this one...as a modest woman came to pour expensive perfume on Christ's head to prepare him for his burial, his disciples fussed about it. Same protest as another modest woman washes his feet with what she had most precious... the tears collected by jewish women in an alabaster tiny jar. Morale of the story which applies to your comments... the value of the gift is in the preciousness it represents to the giver. A few pennies to a poor man equals with the millions of a wealthy man. In any case the giving will make a difference.

Again I hope you are not offended.. I could not resist echoing your comments with what is inspiring to me.

Oh by the way if I had a lot of money... I would invest in gathering all the homeless folks and provide them with housing and jobs thru my own enterprises.
I would finance adoptions in the US.
I would give a lot to medical research mostly on mental illnesses.
I would also insure that each member of my family and friends can own a home and a car without ever having to use credits or loans.
I would buy as many legislators as possible so they lobby for free medical care for all senior citizens who have only Medicare or Medicaid.
And I would treat myself to a trip back to all the places where I lived as a child.

If I had lots of money I would take good care of my 'poor money.'

Well, especially for those of us who might be in his state, you should consider helping get an II member into Congress. Heck, even if you're not in his state, it couldn't hurt, right?

I'm not offended at all. In fact, after writing that post, I thought of Jesus' words concerning a poor widow:

"Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: for all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God; but she of her poverty hath cast in all the living that she had."

Some wisdom, it seems, is universal.

Exactly and guilt should never be part of giving and to give from abundance is equal to giving from guilt. Hence, "my poor money" shows no abundance and no guilt.

You are just too cool for words Mageth! It's a shame I don't always see what people are saying the first time around.
