This is just another suggestion based on my rather subjective point of view, dealing with forum aesthetics.
I'm of the opinion that the IIDB forum background colour should be different than white. The strong reflection can be somewhat hard on the eyes compared to other sites (of course, really dark backgrounds can be hard on the eyes too, when reading text). I think a shade of gray or perhaps a light green, turquoise, or aquamarine would look good. Maybe a texture would help it look easier on the eyes too. I should say that I come from a biased perspective since I prefer to read the monitor in a dimly lit room (I always hated "classroom" style lit rooms with white flourescent lights beaming at me from every direction ![]() Has there been any thoughts considered to changing the background colour/shading/texture at some point? ![]() Thanks, Jason (yeah, yeah.. I know. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My browser shows the text on either a light gray or slightly darker gray background, with just a bit of a white border around the edges of the screen.
Dark text on a darker background would be even harder to read, and patterns distract from the text. Maybe we could go to the old WordPerfect for DOS standby of a blue background with white text. Maybe switching to a monochrome monitor would be the answer to your concerns? cheers, Michael |

In most browsers, you can override web page styles and colours with your own choices. I currently have mine set to a dark blue background with Cyan text and I find it's much easier on my eyes.

I hate style-Nazis! (You know who you are! ![]() So, no, we won't be doing that, so please go ahead and make up your own style that pleases you. Again, I've always attempted to keep the style attributes down to the minimum necessary to make this site useable and pleasing to most people who walk in off the information superhighway. And if you don't like the way things are set here, then please do be my guest and implement your own style overrides. == Bill |
