Default Take this job and Shove it.

So many resignations in the Bush Administration...

Keisling

Blackwill

Whitman

O'Neal, Lindsay

Fleischer

Brown

Hubbard

Kissneger

Wright

Hughs

Powell and Armitage

Did I miss anyone?

Almost every department in the administration has lost key individuals. I'm sure this isn't a complete list, but it still raises my eyebrows.

Anyone know if this high turnover typical in most administrations.

You forgot about Poindexter.

Also, I thought Kindasleeze Rice was talking about stepping down. Or was that just a rumor?

theyeti

P.S. Can anyone believe that they're talking about Powell being replaced by Paul Wolfowitz?

There was talk of her leaving to run for Governor of California but she is damaged goods now thanks to the Iraq uranium flap. She will stand by her man and go down with the ship.

How can anyone doubt that Bush is the anti-Christ by now? Next thing they'll appoint Ashcroft as "over-seerer" of the Supreme Court to edit any incorrect judgements.

I consier O'Neil's departre to be the most significant, and the most significant thing about the Powell Departure is that it was denied as true.

Quote:
Secretary of State Colin Powell and his top deputy have told the White House they will not serve a second term if President Bush is re-elected, The Washington Post reported. But a State Department spokesman vigorously denied the story on Monday.

"There's no basis to the story at all," said Philip T. Reeker. "There was no such conversation."

In a subsequent statement, Reeker denied there was such a conversation or that there was any basis for the report. "As Secretary Powell has always said, he and Deputy Secretary Armitage serve at the pleasure of the president and will continue to do so," he said.

At the White House, Michael Anton, a spokesman for the National Security Council, said "the conversation didn't happen."

Citing "sources familiar with the conversation," the paper said in a story for Monday's editions that Powell deputy Richard L. Armitage recently told national security adviser Condoleezza Rice that he and Powell will leave on Jan. 21, 2005, the day after the next presidential inauguration.
How many times can these guys be wrong?

Oddly enough, they deny the conversation, not that Powell is going to quit.

No more oddly than Bush denying that he admitted to using drugs, not that he denied using them or Bush apologizing that he called that NYT reporter an asshole in public, rather than apologizing for calling him an asshole. Typical neocon bullshit.
