Fenton perhaps your OP should have been "Please be aware that these polls are anonymous. Nobody is going to drag you outside and beat you senseless if they disagree with your selection so please vote. And I am only interested in hearing from the people that choose one or the other.

I think that sounds pretty reasonable. If he had included a don't know/don't care than such comments would be perfectly valid - otherwise, they just make you feel good about yourself.

No, not the case.
The comments are still valid opinions regardless if he had chosen to add a third option.

Oh, I'm sure they're valid opinions but that doesn't mean that they are appropriate.

He asked a simple question, and he provided two options. If you cannot decide, don't vote. It's clean. It's simple.

I didnt vote and I think the ones who posted they had no respect for either probably did not vote but that doesn't mean the ones who dont vote arent going to post their opinions after all it is a message board. Like I said if he did not want to hear from anyone who has no respect for either or has mutual respect for both then all Fenton had to do was say the word...
