The moral seems to be, if you want to sell your book, make sure it has Jesus in its provocative title, no matter what rubbish follows - your publisher will insist on it anyway, e.g. The Jesus Mysteries, James the Brother of Jesus, Jesus the Man etc. etc.

Who is to say that Paul = Josephus is any more unsupported and irrational than the idea that Jesus was born of a virgin, walked on water, and arose from the dead after 3 days?
We don't claim every event can be explained to some "rational" standard established by you. You do. Then, when we apply your strict standard to 90% of skeptics theories, they fall apart.

Besides Carrier insists a "mere resurrection" is a naturally occurring event, which means one of two things: most of your anti-supernatural rationale can be summarily dismissed OR Carrier lost the argument with Geivitt. Take your rational pick bub.

Could you give a cite or a quote? This doesn't sound quite right.
