I don't know what affluent is. I don't generally worry about having money at the end of the month. Is this that 'affluent' thing? I own a house, is that affluent?
I'm only half-educated, but my informal education is what I rely on the most. I'm white, but I prefer to be called american-american. |

I'm not exactly affluent, but I do see myself as educated.
I'm African-American, as well. |

I am not exactly affluent, but not hurting either.
White, with a half assed education. No degree. |

I'm glad somebody picked up on what I said. When I posted it for a while it looked like people didn't question it. I figured somebody might be skeptical on this forum. I base this not on any scientific study but from my general impression.
I do know the demographics of some affluent European countries and know that there is a high percentage of atheism, for example in Iceland it is quite high. I also recall last year a black atheist posted on here looking for fellow black atheists and found very few. Though I myself have met two African American Atheists. Also Having posted on message boards on religious as well as other topics not related to religion I find that people on this board seem more intelligent and educated. I also think atheists may have other things in common including personality traits. This is just a hunch. I stated it more strongly than I actually believe to provoke a response and create interest in it. I would be interested in a scientific study or poll being conducted. This thread wouldn't qualify obviously but may bring an idea. Age was one of the criteria also but doesn't seem to be being mentioned. |

Here's another data point!
I'm well educated but not affluent. I guess I'm Hispanic. My dad is whiteish and mom is brownish. I'm kind of light brown. I've been confused for nearly every brownish race on the planet. Because I'm a blend, race has held very little meaning for me. Culturally, I'm an American geek. I still watch kitschy cartoons and eat Lucky Charms at the ripe old age of 25. |

For instance, I've noted that many of the atheists here have a wonderful sense of humor. Also, could any element of skepticism (i.e., being inquisitive) be called a personality trait? |

As far as the personality trait, maybe I will post a link to a free Myers Briggs personality test. I think I mean Myers Briggs. Is that the one with the letters like INTP, ENFP, INTJ etc. I have a suspicion their would be a high number of INTJ's Introverted, intuitive, thinking judger. The opposite would be an extroverted, somthing, feeling perciever. |
