The movie "Donnie Darko" was great.

I love insane plots...but when Donnie Darko was talking to his physics teacher about 'time travel', the physics teacher confidently explained that 'a metal craft of any kind' could travel through a wormhole I was annoyed. It fit with the movie's plot...but I just hate it when physics is misrepresented to fit a movie...even if its an insane movie. The physics teacher didn't have to act like he knew 'any metal craft would due.'

About that scene from Minority Report with the spiders. If I remember correctly his eye was exposed only for a brief moment and the room he was in was very dark. Also when a doctor gives you a figure like 'don't take off these bandages for twelve hours or else you'll go blind' its not as if if you take them off at 11:59 you'll go completely blind but if you take them off at 12:01 you'll be totally OK. It has alot to do with probability; you're chances of being healed gradually increase over time.

As Kind Bud suggested, perhaps the A.I. has forgotten about its original purpose, which would make the Agents misinformed, as well. But it would be best not to imagine a thickly layered mythos prematurely, else the canonical story becomes a disappointment.

Don't get me started on the Matrix. I also really wanted to like that movie.

Not knowing the formula is nothing compared to people I know who think it's explosive. It will cause a fire already in progress to burn hotter and faster but by itself it isn't flammable. I guess that's another gripe about that movie.

-when Dom and Brian get that Eclipse shot up they yell "Nos" and run before the car explodes.

I still like the Matrix even with all the flaws. Then again I haven't watched it since I heard about all the mistakes.

I guess my disbelief is extra-floaty, because I can watch the Matrix over and over. Or maybe it's Laurence Fishburn and Keanu Reeves in leather. mmmm.... (and Carrie whoosit isn't hard on the eyes either.)

Or maybe Lucas just thought it sounded cool. Like Jar Jar Binks.
Lucas tends to do too much for entertainment it seems, but on a completely unrelated subject to this. The term "Jar Jar" came to mind when I heard Nelson Mandela speak over Bush's actions. I swear, he sounded like an old Jar Jar Binks during that speech. I wonder if he sued...

Hmm. I love The Fast and The Furious, but one of the things that really bug me now that I think about it is the emphasis on the "10 second" car.

10 seconds in a quarter mile is pretty damn fast. You have to do a lot of shit to a car to get it to be a 10 second car, even if you start out with the oh-so-sweet Toyota Supra.
