Pangloss,
This whole thing astonishes me. I am rather new to this BB and I thought this was a place where people could air their views no matter how radical. You know...FREEDOM OF SPEECH, etc. This libel and censorship thing could be easily taken to extremes considering some of the posts found here (especially in the Rants section). So my question to the moderators or powers that be: Is this a Freethought forum or not?!? What is it that they are afraid of really? Has this web site ever been sued before? Hey moderators, it's time to come clean!!! |

And when Bill Clinton started his stuff about "it all depends on what the definition of "is" is," I hope the people at the BB board, who clearly appreciate the fine art of splitting hairs when it comes to the meaning of things, supported his every word.

Caverdude,
Pangloss's events occured at BaptistBoard (BB for short). To my knowledge, nothing like that has ever happened over here. In fact, we treat the ability of creationists to post a lot better than most creationist boards treat evolutionist posts. Sure the environment is rough, but what do you expect on a board populated by skeptics and a suprising number of scientists and E/C veterans. For example, I was once having a 'bad day' and wrote some very nasty things about some
"hit and run' creationist. The II mods berated me an apologized to the creto (who IIRC never showed up again). Overly fair, IMnotHO. But cretos are rarer here than evos, and need to be somewhat protected. Sort of like "catch 'n release" fishing. |
