JTVrocher pretty much summed up my stance. However, I do not consider myself atheist as well. Having been a Minister it took years to get the programming out of my head. Amazingly enough (or maybe not), being a Christian were the worste years of my life. Those who believe that Christianity or the Bible are some key to ancient knowledge are just fooling themselves. If that is what they need then so be it but I consider Paganism to be a more visceral experience. I think it to be much closer to our humanity and not something disconnected from it.
I think with all the labeling people get confused. Wicca is a new religion but that doesn't make it any less valid than any other. Older is not always better. While Christianity may be a Western heritage it is not something to be proud of considering the amount of carnage that has followed. I know that alot of people here enjoy the cerebral experience of nature. I prefer, at times, to have an emotional attachment as well. This attachment is just for me and noone else. |
