Default Surprise, Surprise . . .

I reported two flames/attacks by Socrates yesterday, and to my astonishment they're still up today.

I never report anything and frankly I wish no one else would either. I'm quite sick of having to read DDW's posts complaining about the rank atheist hypocrisy.

I used to not report stuff and handle Socrates's vitrolic comments in the threads, but his repeated use of immflamatory and slanderous rhetoric against me and my wife, caused me to put him on my "trouble-maker" list. Thus I don't hesitate to report his shit when I see it. If an atheist or non-creationist treated me and my wife the way Socrates has, then they'd be on my "trouble-maker" list too.

Hey, nobody has mentioned me. I feel so left out.

I guess I don't make much noise when I am moderating discussions about literature and debating the merits of homeschooling.

I just think it is odd that you all would care enough about one message board to start a thread all about it. Of course, we have had brief discussions about this board too. But it seems so weird that two forums, which by their very nature are not competitors. Aside from a brief mention at school from a fellow student (which I forgot about until later), I didn't even know about this board until I head that people were complaining about ours. Again, I may have seen the name in passing, but it never stuck.

Whatever, this is a decent board.

Oh well you must have been too inconsequential then... Seriously, though, welcome to II. I'm glad that you've found this to be a decent place--it wouldn't be much fun if we treated our opponents without a degree of respect, and gave them the benefit of the doubt on arrival. I think Theology Web as a new forum was attractive because it did not start off with direct censorship of nontheist viewpoints, unlike other boards (or we weren't pushed into into specific holes originally). It also has a higher than average level of intelligence than certain other boards, which makes it at least intellectually interesting. Still, it seems to be going the way of all other theist boards and hindering free discussion and even-handed moderation. Hopefully, the ideas in this thread can be taken constructively by the staff there.

Hey, nobody has mentioned me. I feel so left out.

In this case, no news is good news! Good news you are here too. Your posts are generally good. Check out our excellent library (link at top) and stick around our forums. If you get tired of the god/no god argument, we have political and media forums.

I just think it is odd that you all would care enough about one message board to start a thread all about it.

Ah, but Sarfati and Turkel are names! We all know of them...

But it seems so weird that two forums, which by their very nature are not competitors.

Let's hope so.

Whatever, this is a decent board.

Ha! You wouldn't believe how many people post here while in the buff ......

Don't stay too long, we tend to be rational, and ruled by evidence and method.....and it DOES rub off. Most theists can't handle daily visits, their faith is not strong enough in the face of either questions, or evidence to the contrary...If you CAN handle a little question of authority though, there is always need for information, even if it is oppostional to what we believe. ALL information is prized here.
