Hmmm, I wonder if the economic demographic and employment culture one grows up in could be related to the generalized behavioral tendencies or the "genetics" of a race of people?
Nah. If the answer results in a negative conclusion being reached about a race of people then it absolutely MUST be all a result of a bad environment. Genetics just has to mean nothing. And if I see any evidence to the contrary, I will simply shut my mind down to it. |

Basically, by also including children from long-term unemployed white families, and children from employed Aboriginal families, it showed that race had little if any correlation to employment or criminal tendencies. PC bias ? I don’t know, but until I see anything else I’ll maintain that there’s little if any evidence for a racial factor. Unfortunately racial tendency towards employment is somewhat more difficult to objectively analyse since there are so many other factors. |

BTW, I suppose I should answer the initial question.
Worldview : devoutly agnostic so I don’t count anyway. Race : half white, half yellow (mother Chinese) – kinda makes me a faded beige I guess. Education : mother doctor, father university lecturer, both myself & sister tertiary educated. Income demographic : upper middle class I suppose. Global demographic : amongst the incredibly fortunate of the elite 2% Tertiary students should bear in mind that their age alone should not exclude them from the high income bracket. A poor law student receives no welfare from me !! |

I'm an Asian female, poor apart from lots of books, also bachelor's and master's degrees in microbiology.
So scratch the "white" and "affluent" parts. That reminds me of what a Scientologist once told me : "You're Asian? I take it you're open to the concept of reincarnation." I thought, I said I was Asian, not stupid. [ July 17, 2002: Message edited by: QueenofSwords ]</p> |

College dropout, currently doing construction My family is far from affluent Echidna: I think perhaps it is a question of memetics rather than genetics. |

Well I'm white, 23, and I live with my parents, mostly supported by a disability support pension. I work 8 hours a week doing basic book-keeping tasks. I've completed a Bachelor of Information Technology degree. I became an atheist because of my access to lots of material and university and my thirst for answers. I know at least one atheist who is a school drop-out though... although he wants to eventually get a tertiary degree. I'm kind of an agnostic since it is possible that God could be hiding somewhere... hopefully there is a genie-god that grants wishes somewhere... if so, I wish to keep my current knowledge and relive my whole life... anyone know if this genie-god/super-alien exists? I guess they don't... oh well. I guess I've got to stick to reality.

I don't think that parent geographics have anything to do with it, either (note: I don't know if "geographics" is the correct word to use in this sentence).
For example, my parents are extremely wealthy, mostly because they worked their butts off. However, they still continue to give 15% of their income to the church because God has given them their success through his grace. Are they extremely smart? Yes. Are they also extremely dumb? YES. |
