Our good friend Jay $ekulow pronounced briefly upon this issue last night on CNN's Newsnight with Aaron Brown:
$EKOLOW: "Darwinian evolution with the whole survival of the fittest talked about this common creation, this idea that we were just evolving from animals and eventually into mankind, and the specific nature of the DNA and the gene evidence that science is now dealing with clearly points the other way, that there had to be some intelligent design going on here, because of the individual nature of DNA." Uhh ... what? The segment also included the obligatory: UNIDENTIFIED MALE: "Separation of church and state is an absolute fallacy that's perpetuated upon our nation by a liberal press." Hugo Black was a liberal? |

-Anon. (I think) I missed this program. Didn't anyone call him on that howler of a nonsequitur linking DNA and intelligent design? |

I make it a point to always refer to any kind of "scientific" Creationism or Creation "science" for what it is, "Religious Creationism." Trying to freshen it up with the word "science" I fear fools many into thinking there is something "scientific" about it. Or maybe it should be called "philosophical" creationism. You really can't call it "biblical" creationism because there are as many creation myths as there are religions, 99 percent of which probably most people in this nation have never encountered. In any case, it is not science, and that is the message that needs conveyed loud and clear whenever and wherever appropriate. joe |
